Hi folks, there’s a wonderful project taking shape in York to help to alleviate the sadness of the older generation finding themselves alone at Christmas time.
‘Christmas Presence’ is being held at the beautiful Belfry Hall on Christmas Day and aims to provide transport, Christmas dinner & refreshments, entertainment, presents & good company for 40 pensioners – all completely free of charge via donations and volunteers.
We’re on the lookout for kind donations towards homemade hamper gifts – baked, pickled, knitted, crocheted, sewn – and also any decorations for the tables.
Already been promised are big donations from Asda, Boyes & John Lewis, along with a whole host of volunteers to prep & serve but the more the merrier!
If you’re lucky enough to be surrounded by loving family & friends at Christmas time then please help to share the goodness & gratitude a little further.
Donations can be dropped here at the cafe up until 4pm on the 18th December 🙂
